Creative Flagstaff is seeking to engage a marketing and branding firm to provide the following services for the Dark Sky Arts & Ideas Festival: naming, visual and verbal identity, brand architecture, and initial collateral.
An addendum proposal to provide a logo refresh for Coconino Center for the Arts is also requested.
About Dark Sky Arts & Ideas Festival
Imagine a laundromat turned into a poetry slam, a bus turned into a moving play, an empty parking lot sculpture garden, an experiential installation on Lowell's campus, a high school one-act play competition, and the symphony opening a high-impact closing ceremony. These kinds of experiences paired with dozens of thought leaders and hundreds of artists and artist groups are the heart and soul of the Dark Sky Arts & Ideas Festival.
The festival will have two missions: arts and ideas. But its richness comes from when arts and ideas intersect and interact. It will be a platform of both crowd-sourced and curated artistic, placemaking, and ideas-based experiences, occurring throughout Flagstaff in non-traditional and traditional venues.
Creative Flagstaff and a coalition of arts and culture leaders are planning to launch the inaugural Dark Sky Arts & Ideas Festival in May 2023. Born from a simple idea to coordinate schedules amongst Flagstaff's cultural sector nonprofits and presenting groups, the festival concept has blossomed into an ambitious collaborative project designed to showcase Flagstaff as a cultural destination and to reinforce its identity as a vibrant creative community.
Key elements:
- Open to all venues, artists, thinkers, and creative contributors. Imagine over 100 participating locations and hundreds of artists and presenters.
- Community-driven investment and participation.
- Grants and awards to support participation in the festival.
- Deep engagement with festival patrons, both digital and non-digital, around the arts and ideas presented.
