OIAA operates virtually as a corporation and as a membership organization. OIAA is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of elected Officers and is supported by numerous Board and Service Committees that perform and participate in a variety of duties and activities. As an operating entity, OIAA requires use of common back-office business applications and tools for productivity, communications and collaboration as well as the need for specific applications and capabilities for membership management and communications, event management and marketing, the OIAA directory of online meetings and the 12th Step support "hotline".
Historically, all OIAA meetings, communications and reports have been conducted through email lists and subscriptions to those lists. It is OIAA's intent to leave this method in our past, utilizing web-based online communications as much as possible in the immediate future.
OIAA seeks to improve or replace its existing technology with a technically current cloud-based platform that provides the functionality required by the organization, allowing for simple ease of administration and workflow management, with ongoing technical support and maintenance of the platform performed by the solution provider. OIAA expects this new platform to be capable of supporting OIAA needs for the next 5-10 years.
