This project is an adaptive reuse and renovation of an existing historic house and attached barn with hay loft, built 1899, with a ground level addition constructed in the 1980's. Formerly used as a law office and residence.
This mixed-use project will include ground level preschool spaces and 3 residential apartments on level 2 and 3. Work includes a partial change of use in the first floor from business to education. Work includes modification to existing interior layouts with selective demolition of partitions and new openings in existing walls, including structural modifications; replacement of windows and addition of exterior elements including rooftop deck, rear yard deck and patio; creation of new entry into school spaces through attached barn; interior work including partition walls, kitchens, bathroom, finishes, and mechanical systems.
Building will be fully sprinklered. Egress system for preschool and residential are separate: preschool has 3 exits to adjacent grade, while residential units egress through central stair and exit through front door.
