The William Bingham Foundation is accepting Letters of Inquiry from Ohio nonprofit organizations working to reduce or prevent pollution in Lake Erie.

A one-time grant of up to $25,000 will be awarded to a nonprofit in Ohio's Lorain and Cuyahoga counties working to reduce or prevent chemical pollution from agricultural or industrial sources from entering the lake. Applicants must demonstrate experience with the proposed activity and the organizational capacity to conduct the program.

Requests from start-up organizations or for programs designed specifically to influence public policy will not be considered. In addition, organizations that have already received a grant from the foundation are ineligible.

Upon review of all LOIs, one application will be selected for development into a complete proposal to be considered in August 2013. Applicants not selected for further consideration will be notified by April 30, 2013.

See the William Bingham Foundation for eligibility and application guidelines.
