Virtual Online Patient/Family Orientation Modules for: Chemotherapy Radiation Therapy
Patients and family members who come to the LRCP for treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy are faced with many unknown factors, which can cause great anxiety. Based on the success of the initial introductory module on the LRCP website, HMMS on behalf of the LRCP has issued this RFP to obtain proposals from qualified proponents for the design and implementation of two (2) additional patient/family orientation modules (1 - for chemotherapy, 2 - for radiation therapy). Building upon the success of the introductory module, these two (2) additional modules, will help orient patients and their families to both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Presently, patients and their families receive a Patient Information Handbook on arrival to the LRCP, which provides a full menu of LRCP services including Supportive Care Programs, and other practical information. They also receive printed information about chemotherapy and radiation therapy. An online resource would allow patients and their families to see the actual areas where they will have treatment, and hear the information from staff involved in caring for patients and their families. The online overview will also give family members who aren't at the LRCP appointment a better sense of what is involved in treatment and where their family members will be cared for. In addition, one hundred (100) copies of the online chemotherapy module and one hundred (100) copies of the online radiation therapy module are to be provided in DVD format.
