USDA FOOD PROCESSING
The Nevada State Purchasing Division is soliciting proposals on behalf of the Nevada State Food Distribution Program and eligible recipient agencies for USDA processed food. Our intent is to utilize USDA commodity food as the primary ingredient(s), including, but not limited to, bulk beef, chicken, cheese and turkey ham to produce specific finished end products according to applicable federal and state regulations. The State will select one Vendor for each food grouping. Awarded vendors will be allowed to offer additional products throughout the term of the contract. Contracts resulting from this Request for Proposal will commence on July 1, 2009, subject to approval by the State Board of Examiners, and expire on June 30, 2011, with options for two one-year extensions upon mutual agreement. Vendors should understand that proposals must be submitted for BOTH RFP 1758 AND RFP 1759 if interested in awards for both commodity and specialty items.
Proposing vendors must submit, in the State Documents section of their proposals, proof of participation under the USDA National Processing Agreement.
