TARGETED SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATE SERVICE PROVIDERS
In 2007 the Iowa Legislature enacted House File 890 directing the Iowa Department of
Economic Development to establish targeted small business advocate service providers for
purposes of providing mentoring, outreach, and professional development services to
targeted small businesses certified pursuant to Iowa Code Section 10A.104.
The advice and services provided by providers shall extend to all areas of business
management in its practical applications, including but not limited to accounting,
engineering, drafting, grant writing, obtaining financing, locating bond markets, market
analysis, and projections of profit and loss. The advice and services may be accomplished
by use of department staff, or department contracted professional services. A total a six
business advocate service providers will be selected, each to serve a specific geographic
area.
IDED is soliciting proposals for the provision of business advocate service providers as
set forth below.
