The County has committed up to $50,000 to be utilized for summer programming activities for children and families involved with both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems in the County. The County is seeking an organization to serve as a clearinghouse to coordinate the process of issuing scholarships for summer camps, registrations for summer activities, family passes, etc. The organization will collect and disseminate information regarding summer programming, develop an application process for referrals, issue scholarships, and provide payment for enrolling children in summer programs. Eligible children will need to have an open DHS or JCS adjudication (or DHS Eligible) and reside with parents, in kinship care, in foster care, or in residential placements.
It is anticipated that one award will be made at a maximum amount of $50,000 for a (2) month duration. Of the $50,000 award, up to 10% can be utilized for staffing and administration costs to implement the summer programming project.
