South Arts Invites Applications for Literary Arts Touring Program
South Arts is accepting applications for its Literary Arts Touring program from organizations that invite writers of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry from out of state to give readings and conduct educational workshops or similar events.
The program will award grants of up to $2,500 for projects comprised of both a public reading and an educational component such as a writing workshop. The project can include single or multiple writers involved in an event (writers series, festivals, or single engagements). The maximum grant request is 50 percent of the writers' fee(s). Qualified projects must take place between July 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014.
To be eligible, organizations must be designated as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and/or be a governmental organization and be located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Applications will not be accepted from organizations that do not have a DUNS number.
