Sedimentation Basin Improvements Project
The Water Treatment Plant draws water from the River to
produce high quality drinking water. The Water Treatment Plant utilizes a conventional process of
sedimentation, gravity filtration and disinfection to produce drinking water. In 1992 the EIMCO
TracVac system was installed to automatically remove the raw water sediment after flocculation
and settlement onto the bottom of the four sedimentation basins. Prior to this plant upgrade all
sediment was removed manually.
