SIU Utility Switch/Power Pole Replacement
The National Park Service, National Parks of New York Harbor - MABO, intends to award a Firm-Fixed price construction contract in response to this solicitation.
It is the responsibility of the National Park Service (NPS) to maintain buildings & utilities in the best Life Safety condition possible for the benefit of resources, employees, personnel, and visitors. Life, Health and Safety are paramount concerns for the National Park Service and the Management of Gateway National Recreation Area (GATE). A contract is required to provide technicians and equipment to perform preventive maintenance on the main outdoor 5kv switchgear and to replace two existing leaning power poles. The utility poles contain electric, cable, and telephone service entry lines to residential units on Mont Sec Ave. The leaning poles are stressing the overhead lines. The two adjacent poles along the same line were recently replaced; some wire slack may be available. See attached power pole location diagram and pictures.
