Ruggedized Computers and Associated Mounting Hardware Kits
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), St. Inigoes, MD intends to award a firm fixed price contract for the delivery of twenty-five (25) each Ruggedized Computers (Part Number (P/N) CMS-00153) and twenty-five (25) each associated mounting hardware kits (RS/RCS Series, 24-inch rails, P/N KIT-00012), in support of the Integrated Communications and Information Systems (ICIS) Division, on a sole source basis with Crystal Group Inc. (Crystal) (Cage: 1LTM5) of Hiawatha, IA. Crystal is the only vendor who can meet the technical and interoperability requirements needed for integration into the Fire Scout Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Ground Control Stations. Crystal is the only vendor who can provide these items without modification and within the time frame necessary to meet our installation schedule. Other vendors' products will require reengineering or customization, comprehensive testing for interoperability, and would result in significant schedule slippage and unacceptable delays, as these items are needed no later than 28 August 2014. The government intends to award this requirement under the authority of 10 USC 2304(C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
