Ross School is an independent day school serving approximately 300 students, grades 4 through 12. The education of these students is supported through the efforts of approximately 120 faculty and staff.

In December 2005, the lease for the Schools Avaya Definity G3r switch expires. Arrangements have been made to continue the Schools internet service (terminating July 17, 2005) and long-distance agreements (terminating June 2005) on a month-tomonth basis so that they may be considered to co-terminate with the Definitys lease.

With the expiration of the lease and service contracts, the School is now seeking to accomplish the following goals:

Ensure a cost effective telecommunications solution, reducing current costs
Consolidate all voice and data services for simplified billing and management, and to leverage the purchasing power of the School
Provide a unified platform for on-campus communications

The current telecommunications system uses digital telephone sets for voice communications and is equipped with several analog lines for fax services and some
data lines for alarm reporting and building HVAC control. The switch also supports a limited number of wireless handsets for Caf staff and a limited number of IP telephones which were deployed to provide telephone service to class and seminar rooms that were not originally wired for telephone service. Finally, the current system also supports an
integrated loudspeaker paging system which is accessed and controlled through the telephone switch.
