The County invites qualified offerors to submit proposals for providing legal services to the Department of Social Services to represent their interests in court and the interests of their clients who are in need of child protective services ("CPS"), adult protective services ("APS"), and other legal advocacy in the Courts of Virginia.
The County will select one or more firms to provide the services requested using the Competitive Negotiation Procedure for Professional Services as outlined in Chapter 60 of the Louisa County Code. The County shall enter into a one-year term contract with the selected firm(s) (the successful firm being hereinafter referred to as the "Contract Attorney"). The contract may be renewed, upon mutual agreement of the County and Contract Attorney, for up to two successive one-year terms. Services contracted during any part of a term may, at the County’s option, continue through completion of the services without regard to the end of the term and without obligation to renew the agreement.
County will select the firm(s) who they determine most closely satisfies the needs of the County. There is no requirement for acceptance of the lowest cost of service offered, and specific requirements may be waived or amended at the discretion of the County.
