Replace Steam Station and Demolish Old Heating Plant
Engineering/architectural needed for complete
design services for replacement of existing steam
distribution and condensation station. Existing
station is located in the Old Heating Plant building
that is to be demolished as part of the project.
Installation of new station will require construction of
underground vault to house the new station and
reworking of steam lines to reconnect existing
buildings to the new station. Work will also require
repair of a leaking steam line located in
underground steam tunnel. Steam lines have
asbestos insulation and will require spot abatement
activities. Preference is for engineer as lead
designer with architectural and asbestos
consultants. Project may require entry into confined
space to obtain design information. Designer will
need to demonstrate ability to have design and
bidding completed in time to allow for construction
contract to be awarded by June 1.
