RFP for green energy resources
The energy will be used to help grow Georgia Powers Green Energy program, which was launched in October 2006. The program currently has more than 4,400 customers enrolled who purchase approximately 19,000 100-kilowatt-hour blocks monthly.
Georgia Power seeks competitive proposals that will offer exceptional value to the company and its customers. The company is seeking up to 80,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually of green energy, 1,500 MWh annually of which may be solar photovoltaic energy. Proposals must provide annual energy-only pricing for energy and associated renewable energy credits. All green energy resources must satisfy the criteria of the Green-e energy National Standard for Renewable Electricity Products.
