The City is seeking qualified attorneys to work with the City Attorney's Office in support of the city's exploration of creating an electric utility and acquiring the electric distribution system in Boulder from Xcel Energy. In November 2011, the voters in the City of Boulder passed two ballot measures that authorize the city to consider the creation or acquisition of a new electric municipal utility. The city will be exploring methods of reaching its energy
goals, including without limitation, the creation or acquisition of a new electric municipal utility.
