Pumper Retrofit
The City is seeking proposals for a term contract to retrofit its existing fleet of pumpers with the following upgrades:
Remove dual booster lines from overhead dunnage area of pump house.
Fabricate two (2) crosslay beds in the area currently occupied by the full width compartment above pump
house or in the area immediately above the pump house.
Beds to hold minimum 200' 1.88" diameter attack hose & nozzle.
Bed ends to be equipped with a positive means to prevent unintentional deployment that satisfies NFPA 1901, Section 15.10.7 to keep hose from sliding out of bed.
Re-pipe booster lines with (minimum size) 2" flexible high pressure hose from the pump to the fabricated crosslay beds. The hose should end in "chiksan" style swivel joint finished with a 1 1/2" male NST coupling.
Apply NFPA 1901 compliant safety striping to rear of pumper body.
Install Firecom brand radio/intercom system with a minimum of 4, maximum of 5 headsets. Number of
headsets will be based on seating positions of the pumper being retrofitted.
