Professional Development & Technical Assistance
The purpose of this RFI is to seek a company/companies with which a school or
district could contract to provide professional development and technical
assistance in strategic planning. Vendors selected to provide this service would
be highly recommended to schools/districts that, in turn, would develop their own
contracts directly with their selected vendor.
For purposes of this RFI, the DPI has adopted the following definition for
strategic planning. Strategic planning is a systematic process which requires
the school system or school to develop strategic goals, measures, and action
plans that emphasize student learning and continual improvement, and serves as
the guiding document for total system and/ school alignment. This alignment
ensures that the action plans are implemented at the system, school, and
classroom level.
Specific focus will be on providing professional development and technical
assistance that addresses the following research-based best practices:
Involve representative stakeholders from the system's / school's community.
Include an analysis of student and stakeholder needs demographics, and
current performance levels.
Identify a challenging set of goals and measures that focus on enhanced
learning for all students.
Develop a continuous improvement approach that identifies the changes that
will be made so that growth in student performance can be documented and
replicated.
Facilitate alignment of school level and system department level improvement
plans.
Provide an assessment system designed to document student performance
and growth on student performance goals and operational goals in the system
strategic plan.
Designate responsibilities and timelines to specific staff to monitor
implementation.
