SUMMARY
As part of The Citys ongoing efforts to reduce the discharge of phosphorus, The City has decided to implement effluent filtration at the Treatment Plant. This RFP encompasses the supply of a new Effluent Disk Filtration System designed to receive a Phase One flow of up to 200 ML/d of secondary effluent. The Operator will have the flexibility to select which streams to filter and the quantity of each stream that is filtered, in order to optimize phosphorus removal and meet The Citys overall discharge limits for phosphorus. Also, as part of this project, The City will reclaim a portion of the filtered effluent for urban and/or industrial reuse.
Once complete, this new effluent filtration facility will be one of the largest in Canada. The successful Supplier will have the opportunity to design an innovative, world-class facility incorporating leading edge technology to provide optimal phosphorus removal.
