Interested parties are invited to submit proposals to supply miscanthus rhizomes and planting services to support the Universitys biomass fuel project. The University intends to buy the plants and planting services for a 15-acre (more or less) plot with a location that is to be determined. Planting will occur in the spring of 2013. Data from this project will be used to determine the local economics of growing miscanthus to use as a renewable energy fuel source in the combined heat and power district energy plants.
