State University is requesting proposals for the purchase of manure separator equipment for a 500 milking cow herd. Manure comes from a scraped lactating barn that uses saw dust bedding, no sand. The manure is held in a collection pit. The manure will be pumped from the collection pit, with an Owner-supplied piston pump, to the manure separator. The liquids and by-passed manure from the separator will return to the manure collection pit via an Owner-supplied plumbing system. Purpose of the system is to reduce the solids in the manure going into the manure storage tank and to use the solids removed from the manure for composting and for bedding for the lactating cow herd.
