MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM
The University seeks to purchase a multifactor authentication system for Windows, Linux, Macintosh OS X, and is compatible with Cisco routers, switches, and ACS services.
Proposed system is to have the following:
3.1.1 Ability to provide an audit trail of successful and failed authentications.
3.1.2 Ability to incorporate strategies that discourage impersonation (i.e., lockouts, timeouts, etc.).
3.1.3 Ability to provide real-time alerts when there are authentication failures or potential attacks.
3.1.4 Ability to offer configurations that offer redundancy and high availability.
3.1.5 Ability to integrate with Microsoft Active Directory, Cisco ASA VPN services, Cisco ACS services, VMware View, Apache, and IIS web servers.
3.1.6 Ability to provide time synchronous tokens with the capability of additionally storing and using digital certificates.
3.1.7 Ability to allow for simple distributed Help Desk and token management support for various groups of users.
3.1.8 Ability for daily operation to commence without the requirement of a highly privileged service account (i.e. a Domain Admin account in a Windows Active Directory domain).
