Legal Counsel -- International
This is a joint RFP by two separate agencies within the Department of Revenue of the State:
The Department of Revenue - Treasury Division ("Treasury Division") whose responsibilities include administering four State of public employee defined benefit retirement systems.
The Permanent Fund Corporation ("APFC"), a public corporation and State government instrumentality that administers the Permanent Fund ("Permanent Fund).
Through this joint RFP, the Treasury Division and the APFC seek proposals from law firms interested in providing legal services related primarily to laws of foreign jurisdictions that the Treasury Division and the APFC confront when administering the Retirement Funds and the Permanent Fund. This includes foreign law involving custody and foreign exchange, taxation, securities law, bankruptcy law, and any other law pertaining to institutional investing in foreign markets (directly and through funds or other entities chartered in foreign jurisdictions).
