Iowa Economic Development Authority in partnership with Drake University
PURPOSE:
Through a partnership between the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), Iowa Downtown Resource
Center and Drake University, 4-6 university academic departments will offer assistance and solutions to
address problems downtown in a number of potential areas.
IEDA and Drake University are officially kicking off a formal RFP Process to find 1-2 good matches for this pilot
program.
The goal is to provide real world learning opportunities to Drake students and to improve the economic viability
of the downtowns/urban neighborhood districts in the selected communities.
DESCRIPTION:
Drake students from approximately 4-6 departments will converge on communities (up to two) to research,
provide plans/recommendations and depending on local issues, present actual products (i.e. branding
materials or public art, etc).
