Mandatory pre-bid meeting 03/30/2010.
The Project consists of electrical, mechanical and architectural modifications to the existing electrical vaults. Each interior sub station consists of 4160 volt primary load break switch(es); a 500 kVA dry-type transformer with a 208Y/120 volt, three phase, four wire secondary; and a secondary distribution switchboard. The substations are supplied from the University 4160 volt distribution system in a primary selective configuration. In order to maintain ongoing operations, the substations replacement and required power outages will need to be completed within a eight day University holiday break (starting midnight on 12/22/10 and ending at noon on 12/30/10). Associated work will include but not be limited to: disconnecting and reconnecting 4160 volt cables with new splices; disconnecting and reconnecting secondary distribution feeders; provision of a temporary generator and cabling to provide electrical power to selected HVAC equipment for freeze protection during the installation period; and installation of new exhaust fans for the electrical vaults.
