The State is seeking resources to implement and manage Integrated Pest Management
(IPM) programs and services at facilities that require commercial pest control services on behalf of All
Using State Agencies, Political Sub-Divisions, Cities, Towns, Schools, and Not-for-Profits throughout
the State of Connecticut.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is defined as the use of all available pest control techniques
including judicious use of pesticides, when warranted, to maintain a pest population at or below an
acceptable level, while decreasing the unnecessary use of pesticides. The primary goal of IPM is to
reduce the amounts of pesticides applied by using alternative methods of pest control which may
include structural maintenance, sanitation and mechanical or biological control. These methods will
help to eliminate conditions that are favorable for pest infestation, making their survival more difficult.
Awarded contractor(s) will be expected to:
Assist with the development of comprehensive integrated pest management programs at facilities
that require commercial pest control services
Provide technical assistance to state entities throughout the term of the contract award
Provide a consistent quality of account management and service in support of any IPM program
and/or service throughout the life of the contract term.
