The Township of South Orange Village, a two square mile town with approximately 17,000 residents, is embarking on a study of a potential historic commission. The creation of a commission has been briefly studied in the context of the Villages Smart Growth Plan, however due to its complexity additional research is vital.
This project is very relevant in light of the fact that nearly every section of the Village qualifies as an historic district. Because the historic commission has the potential of affecting nearly every resident in South Orange, extensive research and public input is critical to its success.
In light of these factors, we are soliciting proposals that will ensure all voices are heard and all resources are examined before the commission is officially created.
