Hearing Officer
Contractor will contract with the Department to provide legal specific services. Contractor's primary responsibility will be to serve as a hearing officer/presiding officer, as needed and assigned, in contested cases before the Board and in regards to other contested matters within the Department's authority. Contractor may be requested to provide other legal services to the Board as requested and as assigned by the Commissioner. Contractor should have knowledge and experience with administrative law and hearings before administrative tribunals. Familiarity with health law is a plus. Contractor must be a member of the Vermont Bar. Bidders are requested to quote a charge per hour that includes expenses exclusive of mileage. Mileage will be reimbursed at the prevailing rate for Vermont state employees. This contract is being bid for one year but may be extended for two consecutive one year periods depending on need and funding.
