Gunshot Residue Analysis
Vendor must be an ASCLD-LAB accredited laboratory in Gunshot Residue (Elemental Analysis). • Vendor must be a TXDPS Accredited Laboratory. • Must be capable of analyzing gunshot primer residue particles for elemental composition utilizing scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry consistent with the Scientific Working Group for Gunshot Residue (SWGGSR) guidelines, ASTM E1588 - 10e1 Standard Guide for Gunshot Residue Analysis by Scanning Electron Microscopy/ Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry, and TXDPS Crime Lab procedures. • Must be capable of analyzing GSR particles of at least 1 um or smaller. • Samples must be handled, stored, and analyzed in a manner to prevent loss and contamination of evidentiary material.
