Genetic Paternity Testing and Associated Services
The entity is responsible for administering a statewide child
support enforcement program. One of the duties is to establish paternity, defined in
Nebraska law as the legal determination of the fatherhood of the child. Establishing paternity
is critical because it makes certain an important part of the childs identity and defines under
law the father who is financially responsible for the child.
When there is a dispute regarding paternity, genetic testing and associated services are
proven methods of resolving the dispute. The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to select
a qualified Contractor to administer genetic tests and associated services and report results in
formats that are legally and medically acceptable for identifying or excluding an alleged father.
The entity is issuing this Request for Proposal for the provision of genetic testing and
associated services. A contract resulting from this RFP will be issued for a period of four (4)
years effective October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2014, with the option to renew for two
(2) additional periods of three (3) years each.
