PWSRCAC is seeking the services of a classification society, marine engineer or naval architect knowledgeable about performance capabilities of tugboats used in oil tanker escorting operations in conditions similar to those found in Prince William Sound. The consultant selected will provide an analysis using evaluation criteria similar those utilized by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation to assess escort tugboat technology currently being used in the Sound with alternatives identified by the consultant as representing the best technology available within the marine industry for this type of tugboat service.
