The Liquor Control and Licensing Act authorizes the general manager of the Liquor Control
and Licensing Branch to take action against a licensee for alleged contraventions of the
Act, its Regulations and any terms and conditions of the liquor licence. In general, when
a licensee disputes an alleged contravention, a hearing will be held. The Ministry of
Public Safety and Solicitor General requires adjudicators to act as delegates of the
general manager for the purpose of conducting enforcement hearings and making decisions.
