The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (OPM-CAS) is conducting a source sought synopsis to identify qualified sources to produce an Electronic Time Fuze.

OPM-CAS desires information pertaining to any existing design, or the design and development of an Electronic Time Fuze, for use in existing United States (US) Army smoke and illumination mortar cartridges (60mm, 81mm, and 120mm). The solution must be a dual safe design (two different environments). It must be highly reliable and provide sufficient capability to accomplish fuze functioning at the proper setting times, to allow for observation of effects of fires at all ranges being achieved, with the current suite of mortar smoke and illumination ammunition. This time fuze should be hand settable, day or night, without the need for special tools or external illumination. A Point Detonating (PD) capability is also required. The fuze design should leverage use of proven components from other qualified fuze designs where applicable. For new design and development efforts, information should include the technology and manufacturing readiness level achieved to date. Any response should also include a detailed description of the solution, principles of operation, safety features, operation and setting features, reliability information, all technical details and current manufacturing capability.
