The Dominion Foundation is accepting applications for a total of $1.3 million in educational grants for programs that help students kindergarten through college and postsecondary training schools. The foundation is the philanthropic arm of Dominion Resources, of which Dominion Virginia Power is a subsidiary.
School teachers and college faculty members in Virginia and the Dominion Virginia Power service range (areas of Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin) are encouraged to apply for educational support grants to help their students.
Dominion K-12 Educational Partnership grants are available in awards of up to $10,000 each. These awards are designed to help students strengthen their mathematics and science skills by studying energy and the environment. The majority of the grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000, with a few grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 for exceptional projects. The program also offers mini-grants of up to $1,000 for projects that enhance the teaching of mathematics or science.
