The purpose of the MSRC Clean Transportation FundingTM "Rideshare 2 School" Program is to address these issues head on. Rideshare 2 School specifically targets air quality improvements in the immediate vicinity of schools by enabling automobile trip reductions, as well as supporting regional efforts being implemented under the National Safe Routes to School Program to make walking and bicycling to school a safe and routine activity once again.
To this end, the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) requests proposals from qualified bidders for the development, implementation, and administration of a Rideshare 2 School demonstration program whose primary goal is to promote ridesharing and the use of alternative commute modes by school children at traffic impacted schools within the jurisdiction of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD).
