The original Transmission Engineering CR-DU H-Frame Replacements Project was to replace wooden H-frames in kind between City Light’s Substations, all within City Light’s Transmission Right of Way (ROW). Phase 1 of that project, replacing wooden H-frames was almost complete when the decision was made that South Distribution Engineering’s Feeders 2807 & 2811 Installation Project would be combined with Phase 2 of the CR-DU H-Frame Replacements Project. This decision for Transmission and Distribution to share poles resulted in the need for poles sufficient to carry all applicable conductors and the necessary ground wire. Steel monopoles were chosen as the preferred alternative.
