Design/Construction Manager for Terminal Access Road and Skyplex Boulevard Roadway Projects at the Southwest Florida International Airport

Professional services to be provided under this Request for Letters of Qualification include preparing early cost estimates, conceptual design, final design plans and specifications, securing all necessary permits and approvals, and overseeing the construction by low-bid contractors. The LCPA will competitively advertise each roadway bid package prepared by the selected Design/CM firm and award construction contracts to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
The following roadway projects are planned for RSW and included under this solicitation. These roadway projects are currently unfunded. However, it is necessary to hire a Design/CM firm to prepare conceptual design plans and early order of magnitude cost estimates to assist the Port Authority in determining the amount of funding needed to begin the design and construction of these projects and submit grant requests with accurate cost information.
1. Expand Terminal Access Roadway
This project involves the expansion of the RSW Terminal Access Roadway to six
6) lanes and provides roadway transition in anticipation of the RSW - I-75 Access Roadway connection. Project Status: currently unfunded; $2.9 million state grant funding tentatively programmed for 2014/15. No local match funding currently identified.
2. Construct Skyplex Boulevard
This project involves the development of Skyplex Boulevard between Daniels Parkway and Chamberlin Parkway, and includes various roadway and utility (water, sewer, electric, etc.) improvements needed to serve parcels in the general proximity of the new roadway. Project Status: currently unfunded.
