Upgrade of the RSW FIDS is anticipated to include state-of-the-art displays, improved locations for better passenger visibility, and more durable and better ventilated mounting systems to extend display service life and reduce maintenance costs. At this time, it is envisioned that the FIDS support structures and displays will be included as part of this project, but the current FIDS software and hardware system will remain unchanged. However, once the Design/Construction Manager is selected, various FIDS options and additional locations are anticipated to be evaluated. Therefore, this project includes the design, purchase, and installation of an upgraded FIDS and associated systems at RSW.
