The University is interested in acquiring a Catalog Management Solution (CMS) to establish: a workflow for campus departments to edit changes to the catalog; an approval schedule; a communications mechanism to provide timely updates during the process; the ability to auto-publish consistent web pages across all departments; and a printing solution to allow full catalog printing as well as customized on demand printing.
The goals for the CMS include the storing of course information in a database so that established data elements such as prerequisites, credits, titles, can be queried. The system will allow departments/colleges to generate customized reports for accreditation, Board of Regents approval, and curriculum committee review.
Specific requirements include:
1. Editing for both narrative and structured data.
2. Change/update tracking.
3. Email routing.
4. E-forms solution.
5. Report generator.
6. Output for both print and Web.
