Battlefield Subsurface Archeological Investigation
The City is currently accepting proposals from qualified professional consultants (meeting 36CFR61 professional standards for archeology) to perform a “Stage 2” ‐ Subsurface archeological investigation and additional archival research for the War of 1812 battle, which occurred on or around the Island. The “Stage 2” report must include a thorough historic overview that includes discussion of the entire battlefield.
