BROADBAND WIRELESS INFRASTRUCTURE
The City of Iowa City is seeking a Broadband Wireless Infrastructure Vendor qualified to design and implement a city-wide wireless network or networks ("Network(s)") sufficiently robust to satisfy the varied and demanding requirements of the City of Iowa City's public safety agencies. The Vendor will train qualified City employees in the skills and knowledge necessary to operate the Network(s) after acceptance, the Vendor will provide site management and Network(s) operations services to the extent necessary for the Network(s) to be adequately tested and taken over by City staff.
The scope of this project includes the cost of equipment and labor to implement Network(s). The Network(s) consist of access points and backhaul which enable subscribers units to connect to the city's existing backbone wired IT network. This RFP requires the description and cost of individual subscriber
unit options to be included in the response, however, subscriber units may or may not be purchased as part of this RFP.
