The University announces an opportunity for Design Excellence in Higher Education architecture to provide Architectural/Engineering design services for a new building on the Campus of the University.
The scope of this project includes the demolition of Shriver Laboratory (28,500 GSF) and a small portion of Holzapfel Hall (6,200 GSF), renovation of the remaining portion of Holzapfel Hall (27,400 GSF) and construction of an addition (approximately 63,400 GSF) for a total new/renovated building size of 90,800 GSF (47,900 NASF). The project also includes related site and utility improvements, storm water management, pedistrian circulation, landscaping, and a 5,000 GSF Satellite Central Utility Building (SCUB). The total project is 95,800 GSF.
The building shall be designed and constructed utilizing sustainable principles. The University follows the US Green Building Council (USGBC) guidelines to measure sustainable features. The University expects that this project will obtain LEED certification at the Silver (minimum) level.
