THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.  The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking additional sources for engine starters in accordance with MIL-S-22999B, Starter, Aircraft Engine, Hydraulic, for listing on Qualified Products List (QPL) 22999.  MIL-S-22999B is available at ASSIST https://quicksearch.dla.mil/ and may be obtained by using the "Document Number" search box and entering 22999.

These hydraulic starters will start aircraft turbine engines.   Engine requirements are specified in specification sheets MIL-S-22999/1 (for T58 turbine engine) and MIL-S-22999/2A (for T64 turbine engine) available at ASSIST. Type I starters will be designed to operate as part of a dual-pressure, nominal 3000 and 4000 psi hydraulic system. Type II starters will be designed to operate as part of a nominal 4000 psi flow-limited hydraulic system. More details are provided in 1.2.1 of the specification.

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.  With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made only for products that are, at the time of award of contract, qualified for inclusion in QPL-22999 whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date.  Contractors should be aware of requirements specified in MIL-S-22999B. Manufacturers should arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for qualification in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by MIL-S-22999B.  Guidance for manufacturers and their authorized distributors who wish to submit products for NAWCAD qualification is available from the Provisions Governing Qualification (SD-6).  The SD-6 is available at ASSIST, https://quicksearch.dla.mil/ (enter SD-6 in the “Document ID” search box).    Additional information and questions pertaining to qualification of products to MIL-S-22999B may be obtained from rose.webster@navy.mil.

Submission Instructions:  Interested parties are invited to submit a request for qualification application procedures in response to this Sources Sought Notice via email to rose.webster@navy.mil.
