Synopsis:
The VA NY/NJ Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN3) is in need of "Sani-Hands" requirement. The requirement is for the "Same or Similar" as the PDI P71520 Sani-Hands Hand Sanitizing Bedside Wipes are effective and easily accessible antimicrobial alcohol hand wipes specifically designed for bedbound patients. The Hand Wipes is needed to provide hand hygiene and assist in reducing the spread of healthcare acquired infections (HAIs) within the medical centers.
The extra-large hand sanitizing wipes contain 65.9 percent alcohol, for recommended hand sanitizing protocol, and aloe and vitamin E are added to moisturize skin. PDI Sani-Hands Bedside Wipes are clinically proven to kill 99.99 percent of bacteria, while moisturizing hands with repeated use. The Personal Hygiene Hand Wipes create friction for optimal hand cleansing. Hands are left clean with no sticky residue. FDA food code compliant, the PDI Hand Sanitizing Wipes are safe to use before eating and drinking.
It is highly recommended that the Sani-Hands have the following, as follows:
1.    Small resalable package of disinfectant hand wipes for patient use at bedside.
2.    Wipe provides adequate amount of product to be effective
3.    Contains moisturizing agent
4.    Fragrance free
5.    Evidence of effectiveness in clinical trials
The re-sealable P71520 Hand Hygiene Wipe packages are easy to open and contain 20 - 5.5" x 8.4" wipes per package, ideal for an average 3 day hospital stay.
The CDC recommends that health care professionals sanitize their hands regularly throughout the day in order to maintain proper hygiene. If hands are not visibly soiled, an alcohol-based hand rub can be used to clean hands. Sani-Hands Wipes meet this recommendation for use in health care settings.
