Needleless Port Protectors-
VISN 3

This request for information (RFI) is posted for market research purposes ONLY. It is not a solicitation.
The VISN 3 (Veteran Integrated Service Network) is seeking qualified GSA/FSS sources that can provide Needleless Port Protectors to all eight facilities.
Brand Name or Equal: "DualCapB. IV Pole Strips- Disinfecting Caps for Luer Access Valves"
Please Note: All equal items offerors shall provide a match to all salient characteristics listed below. Additionally, a brief description as to how it is equal will be required in your submittal. Any offerors who failed to submit aforementioned match or description may not be considered.
1.    This is for IV administration sets and the needleless connectors, which are routinely causes vascular devices for cross contamination.

2.    The following features are required for the needleless port protector:
a.     Silicone rod
b.    Reservoir foam
c.    Sealing cone
d.    IV Tubing end
e.    Compatibility with existing IV supplies

3.    The needleless port shall have a sponge saturated with 70% isopropyl alcohol, which ensures delivery of disinfectant to all critical surfaces

4.    Product use on male luer keeps the line covered without the risk of isopropyl alcohol into the IV Tubing. Preventing the practice of looping (inserting the male luer connector into a needle-free valve)

5.    Product shall have full luer-tapered threads to ensure a secure fit on the needle-free valves. Cap when secured tightly and shall not spin or pop off connectors

6.    The product shall have the capability to disinfect a needle-free valve or male luer connectors within five (5) minutes

7.    Untampered access lines shall allow the Cap to provide a maximum connection use of ninety-six (96) hours or four (4) days

Response date (Deadline): Wednesday, October 14, 2015
For planning and scheduling purposes, to insure being included in our market research for this product, responses must be received no later than 4:00PM (EST) on October 14, 2015. Time permitting, responses received after that date may be included in our research but cannot be guaranteed.
