A SYNOPIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION MAY BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE WHICH WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS TO RESPOND TO THIS OPPORTUNITY.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates the need for a firm-fixed-price contract for a project entitled Install New Fire Alarm System at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Leavenworth.
USP Leavenworth is located at 1300 metropolitan Ave, Leavenworth, KS 66048.
The following brief synopsis should not be considered inclusive of work required to complete the project. The BOP has a requirement to replace the existing Fire Alarm and Detection Systems at the USP and Federal Prison Camp (FPC). The current configuration consists of two different systems that no longer communicate properly. They include a Notifier Syster, AFP-2020, AFP 200 and a Fire Control Instrument (FCI) System, 7200 Fire Alarm, 21 FCI-72 RSP panels and 9KDUpanels. In addition to the replacement of existing systems, the site requires two ancillary system installations at the Inside Facility Building and another Building to be interfaced with the new system.
The performance period for the project will be 180 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed.

Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $250,000 and $500,000. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.)
The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 238210 with a corresponding small business size standard of $15 million.
Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov.
The BOP is seeking small business contractors for this project. Your business size metrics information entered in you SAM registration must be less than or equal to the small business size standard specified above . Interested small business contractors are requested to respond to this notice by adding their names to the Interested Vendors List for this posting in FedBizOpps.gov (must be logged-in to your account).
The synopsis of proposed contract action will include further instruction for responding to this opportunity. Interested bidders are advised to continuously monitor FedBizOpps.gov for all future updates.
