REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

The Government is issuing this Request for Information to determine a competitive basis. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey.

Requirement


The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates a requirement for a firm fixed-price construction contract for the electrical rehabilitation of the Raw Water System at Guntersville Lock, Grant, AL. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.


Summary of work for the Guntersville Lock Electrical Rehabilitation of the Raw Water System:


The contractor shall provide installation labor and materials for mounting and wiring all new control stations and any other new equipment necessary to accomplish the rehabilitation of the controls. The new panels shall be fabricated in a UL qualified panel shop and each panel shall be provided with a UL sticker for the custom panel assembly. The enclosures and all electrical devices in the assembly shall be UL Listed or UL recognized. The existing Main Lock hose rack controls station panels shall be replaced with new 120vac control stations. The existing control station wiring will be reused as long as it meets the voltage drop requirements at 120vac. The existing service pump and sprinkler valve 480/240vac transformers shall be replaced with an approximately sized 480/240-120vac transformer. These transformer shall be sized appropriately for their loads. All fuses, relays, and electrical equipment associated with the service pump controls must be converted to work with 120vac. The existing sprinkler valve control stations and combination starters shall be converted to 120vac. The contractor is responsible for verifying the all existing wiring.


This work shall render shop drawings, technical, and shop fabrication/assembly services in accordance with generally accepted and currently recognized engineering practices, procedures, and principles. The Contractor shall replace any such services not meeting the aforementioned standard at no additional cost to the Government.


The contractor will be required to provide all plant, labor and materials to construct these features.


If a solicitation is subsequently released for this project, offerors will be afforded an opportunity for a site visit and to submit questions pertaining to the work.
