This is a Sources Sought Notice. This is NOT a Request for Proposal, Request for Quote or Invitation for Bid. DLA Troop Support is conducting market research seeking to identify possible manufacturers that can supply an item with the following characteristics:


These are Composite Deck Drain Inserts (see below for definition of size and type).  They can be used on all ship classes that have that particular size and type deck drains installed.  These inserts for differently configured deck drains.  There are several types of drains see below:


Types A & B drain have a valve built in, and are used on the lower decks of the ship. 


The type C is generally used on deck drains that flow directly overboard, and not to a holding tank. 


The type D is used on the upper decks of the ship.


The composite insert replaces the metallic insert.  Lighter weight, twist and lock installation rather than having to remove (4) screws every time you need to remove it. 


Interested contractors are requested to review the item description carefully to identify any potential manufacturing challenges and formulate any questions. The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to gather information that will identify sources for the possibility of a solicitation for the referenced item under a long term, indefinite quantity contract.

This Sources Sought Notice is issued for the purpose of market research only and the Government is in no way obligated to purchase any material as a result of this inquiry. The Government will NOT pay for any information submitted by respondents in response to this Sources Sought Notice. If a solicitation or solicitations would result, it/they would be synopsized on the FedBizOpps (https://www.fedbizopps.gov/) website and it would be the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website for any such notices.
