Program Description
Product data systems and processes managed within the Product Services Division are utilized to support the management, conversion, capture, storage, maintenance, retrieval, electronic distribution, transformation, and editorial processes associated with product data. The infrastructure includes standard DoD and locally implemented/developed systems. Product data currently managed within the environment at Robins includes data owned and managed by USAF organizations across the USAF enterprise. Currently, approximately 54,000 technical order documents/increments, comprising an estimated 8 million pages of various sizes; 17 million engineering data images; over 1 million Computer-Aided Design (CAD)/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) model files; and over 5 million part indenture configurations are managed within the environment.
Product Data Services (PDS) required technical support services include, but are not limited to system architect, administration, and database management/administration services necessary to manage and sustain hardware infrastructure and software components; services necessary to develop and execute system and data migration/transformation processes; and those services necessary to ensure system and data contingency infrastructure and operations are implemented, viable and documented. The following provides a partial list of the types of support required:
•· Technical services to manage, maintain, and administer all computing hardware and software utilized to support the management, creation, sustainment, storage and distribution of technical and engineering data.
•· Technical support to assist the government in development and execution of digital data support, sustainment and transformation strategies and processes, and to support development, conversion, storage, improvement, use, and migration/transformation of product data utilized in business and operations, and weapon system maintenance processes.
•· Technical support to facilitate evaluation and implementation of hardware and software infrastructure, and data analysis, reporting and processing necessary to support transition of technical data systems functionality and data to recently adopted Air Force data standards, to newly implemented local system/data environments, and to Air Force enterprise-level systems currently in various conceptual, planning, development and/or implementation stages.
•· Technical support services to establish, enhance and execute processes to discover, implement and maintain relationships/links between various types of product data (i.e., parts, drawings, technical orders).
•· Technical services necessary to develop and execute processes to extract, capture, convert, and restructure data in order to establish and sustain product data element associations.
